EBIC at the NML Engineering Biology Day
The team at EBIC were pleased to have a presence at the NML Engbio Day 2026 – an event dedicated to accelerating engineering biology responsibly; to design and build new biological systems that tackle global challenges in health, manufacturing, and the environment.
EBIC Director Frederic Coulon was invited to speak at this important showcase and networking event, organised by NML, which aimed to accelerate responsible innovation in engineering biology, bringing together partners from academia, industry and government to explore how measurement science supports responsible innovation across the UK.

Our Hub Manager Kristell Le Corre Pidou was also in attendance, along with one of our CO-I’s Natalio Krasnogor who was representing GitLife Biotech. A fantastic opportunity for the team to represent EBIC and join so many important voices to highlight the importance of balancing innovation with societal, environmental, and regulatory considerations. By fostering collaboration between researchers, businesses, and policy makers, this initiative seeks to accelerate breakthroughs while addressing public concerns and ensuring that developments align with sustainable and inclusive goals. The resources provided focus on best practices, frameworks, and guidelines for integrating responsible innovation into engineering biology projects.
