EBIC has four Boards to ensure the efficient management and running of the hub as illustrated:
A Management Board
Which oversees the overall strategic direction of the Hub and where progress against agreed milestones, emerging risks as well as future opportunities are discussed. The management Boards is chaired by Prof Frederic Coulon, with the support of the Centre’s manager Kristell Le Corre Pidou. The Management board oversees research progress, integration across and within the project, monitor resource allocation, recruitment, and researcher development opportunities, resolve potential conflicts, monitor intellectual property portfolio, project user engagement, and produce project reports as required.
An Operational Management Board (OMB)
Which is co-chaired by Prof Sonia Heaven and Prof Bruce Jefferson. The OMB oversees the performance of the Research Themes activities. It provides summaries of key developments, conflicts, risks, and opportunities to the management board and make timely recommendations. The OB will lead a detailed planning cycle after the grant starts with the RT champions, formulating workplans for each Research Themes area.
An Early Career Researchers (ECR) Board
Chaired by an ECR representative and the Centre’s manager, Kristell Le Corre Pidou. The ECR board provides the space for ECRs to share their ideas, concerns, and aspirations.
An Independent Advisory Board (IAB)
Chaired by Prof Victor de Lorenzo, a distinguished and internationally recognised expert in SynBio and its applications for biotechnological purposes and is composed of comprises individuals who can provide impartial and strategic advice based on their extensive experience and expertise. Its primary role is to provide a critical appraisal of the Hub’s progress on an annual basis and make strategic recommendations to the management board. Membership to the board is reviewed every two years ensuring that it remains up-to-date, diverse, and aligned with the evolving needs and objectives of the Hub.
